  • How to Use Clothing in Quilts (workshop -full day)

Make a small wall quilt using scraps of clothing and ties.  Learn what fabrics need to be stabilized and why.  Explore the patterns that work best or just be artsy. 

  • Flower Pounding (lecture or workshop/demo with Crazy Quilting (full day)

Enjoy your garden in the middle of winter. This hands on lecture shows you how to pound flowers to create lovely wall art.  Flower pounding and silk - what a wonderful combination of nature.  Incorporate your piece as a motif in your Crazy Quilting.  Embellish to enhance the beauty of any Crazy Quilt.

  • Mock Crazy Quilt Needle Case (workshop - 1/2 day)

This is a great half-day class.  Create a Crazy Quilt block without piercing.  Learn Silk Ribbon Embroidery (SRE) and seam embellishment.  Beading, embroidery, threadwork and SRE will be covered.  Kit available.  Great for beginners.

  • Crazy Quilting (lecture)

Learn the history of quilting and explore how women today are enjoying the resurgence of this long ago art.  Work with fancy fabrics, cottons, threads, fibers, beads, buttons, and crystals to create a one-of-a-kind of Crazy Quilt block.  This is absolutely one of the most creative mediums around!  This can be tailored to a half day or full day workshop on Crazy Quilting.  Learn the basics of Crazy Quilting and explore the creative nature of this historic art. 

  • From Fantasy to Reality

Yes, you can use that thread, trim, fabric etc.  This lecture revolves around using what you want without asking “can I?”

  • Silk Ribbon Embroidery (lecture or workshop ½ day)

Learn the basics of SRE.  Explore ways in which you can embellish your quilts and wall hangings.  Bring your unfinished top to embellish. 

  • Embroidery 101 (workshop ½ day)

For those who have learned embroidery as a child and need a refresher to those who want to try something old but new, this class is for you.  Learn the basic stitches necessary for you to try your hand at Redwork, Crazy Quilting, Landscape Embroidery or whatever you like. 

  • Embroidered Landscape “The ultimate in handwork”

This is an intensive class for the experienced embroiderer.  Can be an all day workshop or a multiple day event.  Through the use of photos, greeting cards and your imagination  you will create a unique piece of art with fabric, fibers, and embellishments.  Level – intermediate – advanced.
